Here is grandpa reading to her. He was using a funny high pitched voice that was making me laugh. Lola was just sitting there so content.
While we were in Boise, we got to see an old family friend and her baby Payton as well as Debi, Jason and their son Archie. It is always good to see old friends, and especially see their little ones and how much they have grown since the last time we saw them.
It seemed Lola liked to follow grandma wherever she went, especially when grandma would have food with her in her lap. Lola would crawl to where she was at, and pull herself up to the chair, and grandma would feed her like a little birdie. It was so sweet!
Grandma had a rocking horse that she is giving Lola for Christmas this year, so I let Lola get a sneak preview beforehand. I know, what a bad mommy! Don't worry, I won't do this when she is old enough to remember it.
We went to visit Uncle Cheko, who had a stroke months ago. He is recovered, but still can't walk, so he has to use a wheelchair. We just love visiting him everytime we are in Boise and he suggested I take Lola for a ride around the house in his wheelchair.
We also got to visit cousin Linda in Pocatello, Idaho. It was a four hour drive each way, so I was a little nervous going there for only one night. But, Lola was an absolute gem the whole way, I think it was because mommy drove both ways, and guess who entertained her the whole time? Yep, grandma! They were quite the little match.
I put a little red bag on Lola's head that my mom had given her to play with and she looked just like a Shriner. She didn't care that it was on her for at least a few minutes, and then once she took it off her head, she would try to put it back on and we would all laugh. She loves to get a good laugh.
We celebrated grandpa's birthday at our favorite old standby, The Brick Oven Bistro. I have been going there since I was a young kid, and it hasn't changed a bit. The food is fantastic. I managed to get a picture of grandma and Lola in the parking lot, but it was grandma's bad side. She just had some basal cell carcinoma removed from her nose. Sorry grandma, hope you aren't too mad I included this picture, but it was so darn cute.
We wished we would have had more time with Lola's cousins, but the time we did spend with them, we enjoyed it thoroughly. It is so hard living so far away from family.
